The concept of a virtual toolbox was a response by eleven Dialogue Collective members to ferrous tools. It began, perhaps inevitably, as a game – Pass the Parcel. Eleven numbered tools were placed on a table. A parcel of capsules containing the corresponding numbers was passed around the group. The music played and the music stopped. Each person won a tool, which became the inspiration for his or her part in what developed and materialised as a tool belt complete with manual. The tool belt is devised as a single piece made up of individual items of jewellery that together work as a tool kit.
The belt is three meters long and designed to be a comfortable fit for all eleven collective makers.
